A Guide to the Equipment Used in Industrial Settings

Which Type of Vibrating Table Is Best for Your Factory?

Vibrating tables are used to settle materials and remove any excess air, which saves on packaging and transport costs. There are several different types of vibrating tables. Here is a quick guide to each of them to help you choose the right one for your needs.

Flat deck

This is the simplest type of vibrating table. It is used to settle goods that are already in cartons or bags and will shake them to make sure they take up as little space as possible. It can also be used to remove bubbles of air from various substances. One useful variation of this type is a vibrating weigh table, which includes scales to measure the weight of the goods as well as settle them.

Grid deck

A grid deck vibrating table is part of a system that automatically packages the goods.  The carton is moved along a conveyor system onto the table that is then raised and receives the contents from an overhead filling station or dispenser. This ensures that the correct weight is added to the container. The table will then vibrate and settle the contents, before rolling the full carton off to the next part of the process. The materials are therefore weighed, packaged and settled automatically.

Foundry shake out

This type of table is used in heavy industries such as mining and is designed to handle very heavy loads. It is open at the bottom to allow sand or other small particles to fall through while the load is being vibrated. This allows the sand to be reclaimed and recycled, which can make a huge saving on cost. It also decreases the environmental impact of having to obtain more sand.

Live beam

This final type of vibrating table is also used in heavy industry. Its main use is for settling large amounts of concrete, although it is also used to vibrate very large items such as shipping containers. The table is therefore set up to be able to cope with very heavy loads. Beams are set up on the table and spaced apart so that they can handle the load, and are set in place on heavy-duty rubber to contain the vibration and ensure stability.

Buying the right table is vital for your processes to run smoothly. Make sure you discuss your requirements with your supplier and they will ensure that you have the vibrating table that you need.
